Taylor Swift Speak Now Taylors Version
Speak Now (Taylor's Version), a re-recorded version of Taylor Swift's third studio album, has been made available. The new edition features "From the Vault" songs with Fall Out Boy and Paramore's Hayley Williams in addition to updated versions of the 16 songs that first appeared on the 2010 album. Below, you may hear Speak Now (Taylor's Version).
Swift and Aaron Dessner collaborated once more on numerous "From the Vault" songs on Speak Now (Taylor's Version), including "Electric Touch (feat. Fall Out Boy)," "When Emma Falls in Love," and "Foolish One." Swift and Jack Antonoff collaborated on the creation of the songs "Castles Crumbling" (with Hayley Williams), "I Can See You," and "Timeless." Swift and Christopher Rowe collaborated to develop the album's remaining tracks.
Swift pondered on Speak Now's significance to her on Instagram after the album's midnight release. "It's an album I wrote alone about the whims, fantasies, heartaches, dramas, and tragedies I lived out as a young woman between 18 and 20," she said. "I distinctly recall worrying about the best method to tell the story as I created tracklist after tracklist. I had to make some tough decisions, and I did leave behind certain songs that I am still immensely proud of today. Consequently, you have six From The Vault songs! I made this album when I was 32 years old (and still developing), and the memories it brought back made me feel appreciative and nostalgic. For life, for you, for the fact that I get to reclaim my work. Thank you a million times, for the memories that break our fall.”
In order to recover custody of her masters, Swift declared in 2019 that she will re-record her first six albums—from her self-titled debut in 2006 through 2017's Reputation. Swift's third re-recorded full-length, following Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version), is titled Speak Now (Taylor's Version). Swift teased "Back to December (Taylor's Version)" in a video for the upcoming season of the Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty before Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was officially released.
Swift's most recent album of original music, Midnights, was published last year. The artist is presently performing in North America as part of the Eras Tour, which also includes stops in the United Kingdom, Europe, Japan, Singapore, and Australia and runs through 2024.
What distinguishes Speak Now from Speak Now Taylor's rendition?
Except for "Innocent," "Superman," and "Ours," which are, respectively, one, two, and three seconds shorter than the original versions, and "Long Live," which is the lone track that is exactly the same length on both versions of the album, the majority of the songs are 1-3 seconds longer than their 2010 Speak Now counterparts.
Why is Taylor's version mentioned?
After the painful aftermath from the sale of her original master recordings in 2020, Swift decided to rerelease the album as "Taylor's Version," making it the third in her catalogue to do so. (It is preceded by "Fearless" and "Red").
Is Taylor performing her own Speak Now?
The third re-recorded album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, titled Speak Now (Taylor's Version), is slated for release on July 7, 2023, through Republic Records. Speak Now (2010), Swift's third studio album, was re-recorded as part of her response to her 2019 masters dispute.
