Train Strikes July 2023

Following the announcement of a brand-new schedule of strike days by the RMT, the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, train services are expected to be affected once again in July 2013.

After months of walkouts that have caused travel and commuters to be interrupted for days at a time, the railway firms have stated that almost 20,000 workers from 14 different railways will once again go on strike.

The union, which announced three additional days of strike action, said the campaign for compensation, jobs, and improved working conditions will go on until they find a solution they're comfortable with in the midst of a cost of living crisis.

The RMT has alleged that train operators have not made any acceptable salary offers to settle the months-long conflict.

The Aslef railway drivers' union has also declared strike action, which will likely have an impact on train operations. This comes after their ongoing pay conflict as well.
